Here is my story,

My mother, Jenny Takapin met Keith Blaskett in Mt. Hagen, Papua New Guinea. Keith never told my mother that he was married or had children, otherwise she would never have agreed to be his wife. According to traditional Papua New Guinea law, he gave Jenny's brothers a bride price to take Jenny. Jenny was only 15 years old when I was born.

I was born 01/01/1973. My biological father, Keith Blaskett then left my mom for Shirley. He had left his wife Marjory June Rigby with four children to also fend for herself.

I was fortunate in that Humphrey Clarke became my guardian and took me to Australia. There I grew up never knowing I had brothers or sisters. At 20 years of age I stumbled across Ron Blaskett's phone number. I called and asked if this is Keith Blaskett's home. He said, "no and who are you?" I said, "I am Keith's daughter, Leanne." He then replied, "I am your uncle Ron." From there I was introduced by phone and later to meet my sister Christine.

Uncle Ron had kept for 20 years the very first letter my mother had written him from Papua New Guinea, informing him what a horrible brother he had. Upon meeting Ron, he returned the original letter.

Message for Keith and Shirley Blaskett

Shame on both of you! God may forgive you but I know the rest of us have a hard time with that!

Shirley, you were the mistress hiding in the car when Jenny saw you. You know what happened after that! Just remember in this instant - you were the mistress.

Keith, how can you isolate all your children for so many years? Are you truly a wicked man!

I know both of you are not wicked people, however you should try to make ammends before your light flickers out! Even if you never say anything to me, you should try to provide closure for 4 other lives you helped to create!

My Current Research

The Takapin clan is from Enga Province. Enga Province is within the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Enga Province is a rugged and resourceful land, boasting gold and oil.

In WW2, my grandmother from the Takapin clan was a small child when she remembered seeing her first airplane. Having never seen an airplane she thought it was a large frightening bird and hid in fear under her mother's skirt. My grandmother was a strong Christian who died when I was in Australia. My grandmother did not like Keith Blaskett and told him to never lay a finger on my mother Jenny, or else he would answer to her. My grandmother was an amazing woman!
