Welcome to Cat's-paw Press!

The Cat's Backyard is an informal area for the Friends of the Cat. (Feel free to drop by the office any time; it's always open!)

Like many backyards, this one is a work in progress. The Cat's physical, "real-world" home looks out on a backyard that is slowly but constantly changing. Trees sprout up; some are moved in and others are cut out. The flower borders are no longer formal; they change with the seasons and according to the intensity with which the deer, woodchucks, and rabbits feed on them. But backyards are living spaces; they are places for creativity to happen, and maybe that will be the case with the Cat's.

What's in the backyard?

For starters, what or who was really back of the name of Cat's-paw Press. (Even though in the Office, you find that a "cat's-paw" is a light breeze that ruffles the surface of a lake. But that isn't really all the story.)

Currently, publishing and wilderness camping are the two focal areas for Cat's-paw Press. The first structure going up in the backyard is the Tool Shed. The Tool Shed is where we can put the various and sundry matters of interest "that aren't quite right for the office" but are too useful just to lie around.

The tools in the Shed are for publishing efforts. Friends are welcome to borrow any of the tools (and like words in a language--"borrowed" ones don't seem to come back; they just go out and work in new area) as they need them. One request: if you know of a tool that would feel at home in the Tool Shed, recommend it to the Cat.
