Meet The Family

We're the Taggart family, from Cahoun, Georgia.

DAVE -- Head of household, schoolteacher, U. S. Army (retired), grandfather. I was born in Pennsylvania, lived on the family farm there with my two sisters, moved to Vermont. I was stationed all over the world (101st Airborne 7th Infantry Division, Berlin, Language School and the Infantry School) while on active duty in the Army. Now I'm a science teacher in Northwest Georgia. Hobbies: Reading, baseball, the pulp heroes of the 1930's, splitting logs for the wood-heater.

BETTY -- The REAL Head of Household, 1994 Ms Wheelchair Georgia. I was raised on a farm in North West Georgia with 3 sisters and 2 brothers. At the age of 2 I was stricken with polio, so I spent most of my childhood in and out of hospitals, but with loving parents I was never treated any different than any of my siblings. I grew up believing I could do anything I set my mind to. I proved that true when I gave birth to a beautiful daughter after being told I would never have children. In 1993 I learned to swim, started college and entered and won The Ms. Wheelchair Georgia Pageant. While I was traveling throughout the state I met Dave, the most wonderful man I have ever known and after 5 weeks we were married. I was on two episodes of WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE, but never made it to the "hot seat". The picture at the top of the page was taken there, on Broadway. Hobbies: Christmas decorations, cats, baseball, and gardening.

Our Real Bosses

BUD -- 13 years old. Big and yellow. A sweet old boy. He weighs about 25 pounds.

RECYCLE -- 10 years old. Dainty and black, with white under. She is beautiful, but can be very hateful. She weighs maybe 8 pounds.

BUFFY -- 7 years old. Big ane yellow. He doesn't know he is a cat. Blind in one eye, but very loving. He weighs about 25 pounds.

Lily -- Our newest addition; a two-year old female Siamese. She just delivered her second (and last) litter of kittens.

Grandchildren

LAWSON -- Age 6; very loving and the "worrier" and "question-asker". He asked me, "Why can't you walk walk?" I explained it the best I could to a small child. A couple of weeks later he wanted to know why I had legs. If I couldn't walk, then why have legs?

JARRETT -- Age 5; he "don't care if the sun don't shine." But at the same time when he climbs onto your lap and puts those little arms around your neck; you would walk through fire for him.

LAINE: Born 4 December 2002. 7 lbs., 13 oz., with a full head of dark hair.

I know now what the saying, "If I had known Grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first" really means.
