"Santa Barbara" 1984-1993
"Santa Barbara" was created by the most talented soap writers in the history of the genre! Bridget and Jerome Dobson created a soap opera that took place in their hometown of Santa Barbara, California. "Santa Barbara" premiered on July 30, 1984 on NBC-TV. During its 8 1/2 years on the air, "Santa Barbara" won many Emmy Awards, including 3 consecutive Emmy Wins for Outstanding Drama Series in 1988, 1989 and 1990. "Santa Barbara" sadly broadcast its final episode on January 15, 1993. Due to low ratings and idiots running NBC-TV Daytime the show had to end. Although the fans of "Santa Barbara" have not and will never forget the special show that was "Santa Barbara".

The Capwell Family
The core family of "Santa Barbara" are the wealthy Capwell family. The patriarch of the Capwell clan is Channing Creighton(C.C.)Capwell. C.C. has been married many times and had a number of affairs, although his one true love has always been Sophia. C.C. and Sophia share three children together: Eden, Kelly, and Ted. At one time C.C. believed Channing Jr. was his son, although he later learned that Sophia had an affair with C.C.'s arch-rival Lionel Lockridge and that Lionel was actually Channing Jr's father. Sophia accidently shot Channing, although we later learned the man everyone thought was Channing wasn't really the baby Sophia gave birth to. Lionel's mother, Minx Lockridge was outraged at the thought of her grandson being raised as a Capwell, so after Sophia gave birth to Channing, Minx switched the baby and replaced the real Channing Jr. with the baby of a circus family. The real Channing Jr was Minx's limo driver Brick Wallace.
C.C.'s first-born child was Mason Capwell. Mason's mother is Pamela Capwell, (C.C.'s first wife) Mason and C.C. have always had a love-hate relationship. They are similar in many ways, which is why they always seemed to be fighting.
