Cowboy Bebop Fan Art
Cowboy Bebop
After watching the second half of Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network, I finally broke down and bought the Perfect Collection DVDs. I just couldn't wait for it to run in its entirety on TV, plus I really wanted to watch it in Japanese! (Yes, I prefer sub over dub). The artwork is stunning, and the computer graphics blend seamlessly with the cel animation. The Perfect Collection also included a CD of the first soundtrack--Cool.
I read the manga published by TOKYOPOP, and I'm looking for another dose of Cowboy Bebop. The movie Knocking On Heaven's Door started showing in theaters on April 4 (not anywhere near me, of course) but the DVD comes out on June 24. WOOHOO!!
 | I got a little creative with these sketches for the ending song, "The Real Folk Blues." They're largely derived from images right out of the anime, so they aren't totally orginal fan artworks. | |

Spike takes on the bad guys of the Red Dragon Syndicate en route to a showdown with Vicious in the action-packed finale (Session #26 - The Real Folk Blues, Part 2). |

Spike Spiegel is one laid-back dude. I don't think this looks very much like him, maybe because his hair isn't fuzzy enough and his legs are too short. There's a lot of smoking in this anime, but I don't recall seeing Spike light up even once in the last two episodes. |

The sultry Faye Valentine eyes her opponent across the gambling table. Somehow this picture reminds me of the beautiful women in those posters by Nagel. (Session #11 - Toys in the Attic) Click here to see the original sketch. |

An interesting view of Faye. This was a challenging exercise in perspective drawing. The angle gave me all kinds of trouble. Plus I stink at drawing women's lips--most females in anime don't have any, so I usually don't have to worry about that. (Session #11 - Toys in the Attic) Click here to see the original sketch. |
