Lift up the Banner
The recording, Lift up the Banner, made
in conjunction with the
Songster Brigade from Chelmsford was recorded in the summer of 1998 at
St Andrew's Church, Melbourne Chelmsford.
Sub-titled Music for Sunday Worship,
it contains music that is varied and spans the years. It includes music from
the pen of well known SA composers like Dean Goffin, Eric Ball and George
Marshall, presenting pieces that are SA "classics" in their own right. It
then brings us up to date with music from contemporary composers like Len
Ballantine, Barry Gott and Richard Phillips.
The recording is dedicated to the memory
of Major Thomas Wilson (1932-98) who for five years from 1992 served with
his wife Lillian as the Commanding Officer of the Chelmsford Corps and was
Promoted to Glory shortly after the completion of this recording.
