Antique Christmas Postcards
The period between 1900 and the start of World War I was the golden age of postcards! There were postcards to announce or celebrate every occassion. Regular mail cost three cents while the bright cheerful postcard was only one cent to mail anywhere! Collecting and trading postcards soon became a very popular hobby. I began collecting Christmas Postcards because they were so pretty and kept me from becoming bored while my husband searched postcard shows for old lighthouse cards! I'd like to share some of my collection with you now !

This is a very rare card, I have included it in my page because I live in Troy, NY, the birth place of Uncle Sam!

I have always loved Christmas, it is my favorite time of the year. I grew up in a family of seven, my parents, four brothers and myself. My parents instilled in us a strong sense of family and the magic of the Christmas season. My parents always made Christmas a special time of year for us children and my head and heart are filled with those memories. We are now blessed with families of our own. We have presented my parents with twelve more children to love and nurture and to continue to teach us all to keep Christmas in our hearts everyday of the year!
