About Me

Charlie Fagan started square dancing at the age of six through a parks & recreation program. He enjoyed the music & was amazed at how the caller moved the people, (kids),one place to another using music & routines. His parents got involved in the activity after watching how much fun the kids had. His Father wanted to become a caller & enrolled in a caller's class,(Bob Van Antwerp's).
They were very much involved with the activity & owned & operated a Square Dance Hall in the city of Torrance. Charlie followed in his fathers footsteps also wanting to become a caller. For his fifteenth birthday his parents enrolled him into a caller's instruction class,(Again Bob Van Antwerp's) The only father & son team Bob has instructed.Charlie Has been calling & instructing modern western square dancing for the past 30 years. Calls & instructs basic thru advanced. Will call a dance to suit you & your guests. Maintains a home program & instructs a new beginners class each year. He takes pride in his instruction skills. Has called in Arizona, Washinton, Idaho, Montana,Utah, Wyoming. Charlie is a member of CallerLab & currently serving as President of the Orange County Callers Association. BMI/ASCAP Licensed. Charlie loves the involvement& believes Square Dancers are the nicest people on earth.
