(also called Japanese Spitz)
Our expertise in these breeds is documented
thru published articles in their respective
national breed magazines;
local and national breed club participation,
Show and Working titles including
Breed Championships,
International Championships,
and Versatility titles.
We have , as the need and occasion has arisen,
also rescued, or assitsted in the rescue of MANY
other breeds and mixed breeds, and even other species,
as well as the training and placement of therapy
and service animals.
Chekia Dog Rescue began informally
as Chekia Collie Rescue in 1974
and has been responsible for shelter rescues,
stray rescues, owner relinquishment rescues,
medical needs rescues, death of owner rescues,
and disaster relief rescues on both the east and west coasts,
as well as in the southern states.
We have also helped to found a number of
rescue organizations in each of these areas.
We provide lifelong sanctuary to every dog
who comes here and does not, for whatever reason,
find a suitable loving home.
We have non profit status as the
Southern California Chapter of Heartbandits,
the international American Eskimo Dog
rescue organization (est. 1996).
We are extremely grateful to each individual
who would like to make even the smallest
donation for the ongoing and special needs
of our Rescue and Sanctuary tykes, and
