Very old Native American, free hand style beading technique.(no loom) Each individual bead is passed through 6-8 times with 100% cotton thread (coated in beeswax to keep it from rotting).Even if a thread breaks or is cut the beads will not unravel. Each bracelet takes five or more hours to complete. Buttons are made from deer antlers. Classes to learn this technique are being offered by Cherokee Ridge.
Completed bracelets are sold from $15-$20. Custom orders may be slightly higher. |
