Cheryl Faye's World
THE WORLD OF CHERYL FAYE
Hi, welcome to my site.

Come on in and make yourself at home.

Before you go any further, though, let me tell you a little bit about myself.  Aside from being the mother of two great sons (that's them in the photo with me--aren't they handsome?), I'm a romance writer, but if you're visiting this site, you probably already know that. (Tee, hee)   Writing has been a hobby of mine since I was a young girl.  I started out writing poetry, almost always with a romantic theme (you can check out some of my poems here, too).  My first stab at writing fiction was when I was in the tenth grade where I wrote a short teenage love story.  I can honestly say, I never imagined I'd one day be a published author.

As an incurable romantic, it's been an honor to have had four of my love stories published and made available to the world at large.  My first novel, which, unfortunately, is currently out of print, was "At First Sight," the fast-paced love story of Alexandra Jenkins and Warren Michaels who experience a roller-coaster ride of emotions due to outside interference.  That was followed by "A Time For Us" (ISBN # 1-58314-230-4), the first half of the story of Mark Peterson and Nicole Johnson, a couple who met and fell in love despite attempts to suppress their feelings; then "A Test Of Time" (ISBN # 1-58314-051-4), the tumultuous sequel and conclusion of Mark and Nicole's story where they each learn that love conquers all; and most recently, "First Love" (ISBN # 1-58314-117-0), the tender story of Lena Caldwell and Quincy Taylor, a naive young woman who captures the heart of a self-described ladies' man.  Click on the links below to get a little taste of these stories.

I've also had a short story published in the Arabesque anthology, "Mama Dear."  That piece is entitled "Second Chance At Love," and tells the story of Rachel Waters and Justin Phillips and how together, they learn that they can love again.

Check out the excerpts from each.  By the way, "A Time For Us," "A Test Of Time," and "First Love" can be purchased at your local bookstore or on-line at www.amazon.com.

Oh, and FYI, my fifth novel, "Be Careful What You Wish For," will be published in the Fall of 2004 by Strebor Books International.  Yeah, that's right, that's Zane's company.  Unlike my earlier titles, "Be Careful What You Wish For" is more mainstream as opposed to straight romance.  You see, there's a whole lot of stuff going on in "Be Careful What You Wish For" and despite the fact that there is a definite love thing happening between a couple of my characters, the crux of the story is about the friendship between two life-long friends, Jamilah Parsons, a down-to-earth graphic designer, and Sabrina Richardson, a beautiful, and pretentious gold-digger.  Click on the link above and get a quick taste of "Be Careful What You Wish For."

Also, a current story-in-progress is "Necessary Work."  The main characters are Charisse Ellison, an adventurous and very beautiful professional young woman who is looking for Mr. Right in the hopes of getting married and starting a family; and Stefán Cooper, a suave, debonair and extremely good looking certified bachelor, who, against his will, falls prey to Charisse's natural charms.  Click on the link above for a sneak peek.
My Favorite Authors

Here are a few writers whose work I enjoy immensely.  Check 'em out!

William Fredrick Cooper - an incredibly talented, up and coming author.  Look for his debut novel "6 Days In January" in February 2004.
     J. California Cooper - I am never left unfulfilled after reading one of her books.
Beverly Jenkins - the best historical romance writer I've ever read.
Octavia Butler - Sci/Fi-Fantasy with an urban flavor.
     E. Lynn Harris - Always exciting.
James Patterson - The creator of the Alex Cross crime mysteries, as well as many others.
Sandra Brown - Although she writes romances, she also is masterful at creating crime dramas.
      F. Paul Wilson - If you're into sci-fi/fantasy, check this guy out.  His Repairman Jack novels are great.

As I said, these authors are just a few whose work I enjoy and read faithfully.  If you haven't had the pleasure, consider this an introduction.
