The Chi Alumni/Community Band has members ranging in age from 18 to 80, they come from the ranks of the past Chi High School Bands and interested people from other bands - 30 other bands at last count. We welcome anyone who has an interest in playing or marching with us. We give several local concerts each year. We have also traveled much of the East Coast, marching in parades - including 3 appearances in Disneyworld, several strolls down the Atlantic City Boardwalk in the Miss America Parade, an Atlanta pre-Olympic appearance in their 4th of July Parade, and a Thanksgiving march in the Philadelphia Holiday Parade. We also participate in countless community and local occasions. Our band is a complete marching unit - made up of not only musicians, but also a color guard, majorettes, flag twirlers and a drill team.
We enjoy what we do - that's WHY we do it!

And the Band Plays On - a biography of Kathryn Forwood.
Oct., 2000. Darla McPherson, Chichester Alumni, former student of Mrs. Forwood and Chi Alumni band member, has published a book about our director's life. A book signing was held in the school's library and the two ladies spent hours signing books and visiting with old friends. Two articles were written by local newspapers about the book:
Cecil Whip, May 4, 2001
$2.00 will be donated to the Alumni Band Scholarship Fund from every book.
