TANK TRANSIT INFORMATION
Official Web site of the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky.In 1972, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky became responsible for all transit lines in the Covington/Newport area. The last streetcars ran in 1950.
NORTHERN KENTUCKY TRANSIT HISTORY
In 1867, the Covington Street Railway Co. became the first of several street railways in the Covington/Newport area. The company eventually evolved to the Cincinnati Newport & Covington Railway Co.

TRANSIT ROUTES - PAST AND PRESENT
Many of today's bus routes in Northern Kentucky have histories which can be traced back to streetcars, and even horse cars.
BUS AND STREETCAR ROSTERS
Buses have operated in the Covington/Newport area since 1910. The last streetcars ran in 1950, and trolleybuses operated from 1937 to 1958.
NORTHERN KENTUCKY TRANSIT FACILITIES
The various carhouses in the Covington/Newport area were eventually replaced with a single modern bus garage.
