Official Web site of the Grand Rapids Interurban Transit Partnership.In 1963, the Grand Rapids Transit Authority became responsible for all transit lines in the Grand Rapids area. The last streetcars ran in 1935.
GRAND RAPIDS TRANSIT HISTORY
In 1864, the Street Railway Co. of Grand Rapids introduced horse car service in Grand Rapids. In the subsequent years, various companies operated the streetcars and buses in Grand Rapids.
