KANKAKEE TRANSIT INFORMATION
Official Web site of the Kankakee River Valley Mass Transit District.In 1999, the Kankakee River Valley Mass Transit District assumed operation of local buses from Kankakee Area Transit System. The last streetcars ran in 1931.
KANKAKEE TRANSIT HISTORY
In 1891, the Kankakee Electric Railway Co. introduced streetcar service in Kankakee. After the discontinuance of streetcars in 1931, the Kankakee Motor Coach Co. would operate buses, until 1961.
