My Spiritual Beliefs (so far)

Who/What is God to Me

What God is not, is a white man, with a white
beard, sitting on a big, white throne with a
sceptor in his hand pointing multitudes to hell
and allowing a very small few through the
pearly gates. None of us even have inkling of
all of what God is, but, to me, God is The
Source of complete goodness, unconditional love
and a creative intelligence that we can't even
begin to fathom.

I believe that we all come from the God Source
and are made up of this goodness, unconditional
love and creative intelligence as well. In
Genesis, it talks about being made in God's
image. It's not talking about physical
characteristics, it's talking about the
spiritual characteristics of Who We Really Are -
Children of God - ALL OF US.

Jesus taught that if you had the faith of a
mustard seed, you can move mountains. (Not
literal mountains but mountains of problems.)
Jesus also said "Ye are gods" - small "g" -
meaning you are children of God, YOU are of the
Divine. See, HE believed this about himself
and he was trying to teach it to us. If only
we had his faith, the things we could do - wow,
what a world it would be.

God Can't Hate

The other thing about the God Source that
people don't understand or misinterpret is that
God can't hate. God is love. Love and hate
are opposites, so God and hate are opposites.
Fear is also the opposite of God. "Perfect
Love casts out fear." Now when people say "God
hates sin" what it really is, is that the God
Source cannot be a PART of the negative. The
God Source only recognizes goodness, love,
compassion (the fruits of the spirit) and
doesn't have anything to do with what we
call "sin" which would be: hate, greed,
selfishness, fear, jealousy, deceit overblown
ego, etc - all the negative HUMAN attributes.
The God Source cannot be a part of these
things. The God Source doesn't recognize these
things because God is the opposite of them.

A Just God

People say, "Well, God is a just God." Yes,
there is a justice system in the universe -
it's called "You reap what you sow" - it's a
universal law - all will be made up. I am one
who believes in the gift of free will but I
don't believe it ends with this life. Our free
will continues after this life and on into the
next. I believe there are various levels of
the "afterlife" for the various mindsets but
the lower levels don't have to be for
eternity. We still have free will and those in
the "lower levels" are going to get tired of
being there and want to get closer to God
again. They can still do this. God's will is
to not be separated from any of us - and isn't
God's will done?

More to come...
