"I became a doula practitioner as
a result of my own childbearing experiences and my experiences
working with people. As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
in the Greater Los Angeles area for a number of years, I learned
to combine empathy with a realistic approach to life's difficult
moments. Later, I had an opportunity to use my case management
skills in a business setting, where I gained the mentoring and
coaching abilities essential to working with people.
"When my children were born, I had
my own wonderful experience with a doula. I found childbirth not
only life-changing, but a rite of passage-an opening of the heart.
My positive childbearing experience and the profound insights
I gained from it motivated me to work toward becoming a doula."
