 The CISCO KID

"Here's adventure! Here's romance! Here's O. Henry's 'Robin Hood of the Old West' - The Cisco Kid!"

In fact, Duncan Renaldo as Cisco shared little with the character of O. Henry's short story, "The Caballero Way". Gallivanting about with his slightly off-center pal, Pancho, the pair were generally perceived by local constabulary as ne'er-do-wells at best and more often as a horse thieves or highwaymen. Still, they always managed to set things right inside half an hour and, before riding off into the sunset, guffaw heartily at each other: "Ohhh, Ceesco!" "Ohhhh, Pan-cho!"

Leo Carillo as Pancho upstaged Cisco at every opportunity and definitely got the lions' share of laughs with his malaprops, mangled Spanglish and less-than-valorous exclamation, "Let's went, Cisco!", when things got hairy.

Like the Bonanza comics vs. coloring book, the Cisco edition also features swell drawings throughout that eclipse the comic books' likenesses. And what a nice cover painting too. All this for only 21 cents!

Cisco and Pancho's numerous personal appearances are documented by artifacts like this, complete with swell photos, articles on the stars' personal histories and lots of 'local color'.
