More Late Breaking News...
A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Can you relay this info to a Learn-to candidate (or 2 or 3)?
I've always loved doing Learn-to-skate, Learn-to-play classes.  On the one hand, I tend to feed off the kids' excitement and enthusiasm.  On the other, these present an opportunity for me to take what I've learned from dealing with high school, college and pro athletes, and to then ensure I start the first-timers right.  Truth be known, I've had a number of players start with me, stay with me, and eventually reach the game's highest levels.  At the same time, I've had a number of players start late with me, and I learned that it was pretty difficult -- and sometimes impossible -- to correct some of the problems they'd developed as beginners.  Yes, the way a player begins is THAT important.

Anyway, after years of running programs for other organizations, I've finally decided to create my very own Learn-to clinics, these to be run on Sunday mornings in Bridgewater (BIA), beginning December 2nd.

Ah, the beauty of doing these with no other bosses but my customers...  Right-off, I'm going to introduce some amazing new teaching methods.  And, I'm going to communicate with Learn-to parents through a blog.  The benefit of the blog is that it's an interactive medium.  And, I'm also going to be able to post videos there -- for the parents, and even some for the kids to study at home between sessions.

So, even if you don't have a beginner right now, you very likely know one (or two or three) who would benefit greatly from my way of "Starting Them Right!"

An Update on my

Just for my hockey friends!
What's in a name?  Some are obviously given to us, even nicknames.  Some we choose.  Then, there are those we sometimes get stuck with...

Okay, so a lot of people give me a "?" kind of look when they see the spelling of my nickname, "Chic".  So, why not "Chick"?  Ugh...

The truth of the matter is that my high school football jacket arrived with my name spelled "Chic" (Idiots!).  My dad was as bothered as I was, and he wanted to send the jacket right back to be corrected.  I, on the other hand, was 17-years old, and I didn't want to part with my badge of honor.

So, that's the story behind the story.  Oh, I still pronounce it "Chick" (not "Sheek").  I'm just stuck with the way some unknowing !#%#!@! spelled it so long, long ago.

It's not easy keeping up with thousands of former students.  So, if you know of any I've missed on the Alumni Page, PLEASE let me know!
