Personal, Position, & References

PERSONAL

I was born in October of 1963, I am single with 2 children, my son was born in March of 1991 and my daughter was born in May of 2000. I am in good health and physical condition. I also have excellent management skills, customer service skills and I work well with others. Because of my love and knowledge of horses and riding, I believe that I would be an asset to anyone who wants and needs an innovated and organized person as well as a hard worker to get the job done. I enjoy working with all breeds of horses as well as giving lessons to people of all ages and levels. My motto is: I work with horses because I LOVE to, not because I have to!

POSITION

I am interested in a training and instruction position at a public boarding/training facility or a management position that will allow me to train and teach on the side. I have an Equine Science and Equitation school curriculum that I would like the chance to implement into a regular program. I teach more than just how to sit pretty on a horse. I would also like a teaching/coaching position at a school that teaches Equine Science and Equitation related classes.

Salary is negotiable.

To Whom It May Concern,

Mary worked for me as a stable manager and head groom here at Magnum Arabians during the Spring and Summer of 1988 and trained 2 more permanent employees. She was punctual as well as a hard worker. She took excellent care of my string of 10 show horses, 2 brood mares, and 2 breeding/show stallions. I believe that Mary cared for my horses as if they were her own. She has a special touch that no one else can match when handling horses. I personally recommend Mary Murray as a groom, trainer, and showman. She is very sportsman like and very professional. Mary would be a definite asset to any operation that hires her.
Carol McDuffy at Magnum Arabians (passed away in 1988)

To Whom It May Concern,

Miss Murray was the manager of Rincon Stables, located at 4885 S. Houghton Road in Tucson, Arizona, from October of 1986 to April of 1987. She skillfully turned a failing business into a thriving one in just six months. Mary took care of all paper work, bills, billing, bank accounts, and advertising. She also put on several successful gymkhanas and schooling shows. Mary is also quite handy with most repairs to stalls, roofs, and plumbing when needed. She also stays calm and level headed whenever a crises arises. Mary is simply a horse person that is innovative as well as a hard worker. I feel that Miss Murray would be an asset to any facility that deals with horses.

Philip McVaen (no longer owns facility)

To Whom It May Concern,

Mary Murray is one of the most professional and reliable people I have ever met. She took great care of the facility and all 50 + horses as if they were her own. She has always shown up early and stayed after hourse just to make sure that the horses were taken care of, on many occasions. There were two horses that had gotten themselves into a dangerous situation, but thanks to Mary's quick thinking and proper reaction, she saved them before they could injure themselves at all. Mary also recognized the early signs of colic in another horse and called the owners and their vet immediately. The horse recovered within two days. Mary will be greatly missed here at Rancho Paso Doble.

Katie (her daughter now leases the facility out to other trainers)

To Whom It May Concern,

Being in the horse industry it is very unusual to find a person such as Mary Murray. Her patience, skills, and dedication are exceptional. Ms. Murray has worked for Pradera Wind for over six years - Re: Breaking, Training, Foaling, Foal Handling, Western, English, Hunter/Jumper and Dressage prospects - with many blue ribbons to her credit. During the January floods in Tucson, in 1993, and the location of our facility, we are temporarily out of business. Our land was washed away and it will be quite some time before we are up to full scale. I, with no reservations what-so-ever, do highly recommend Ms. Murray for any position she may be applying for. She was a great asset to our operation.

To Whom It May Concern,

I own a mustang that was unmanageable and Mary completely retrained him in 6 weeks. She even began showing him in Western and English and even over fences. She also used him as a school horse and now I can ride him with a halter and lead rope, as well as, my five tear old nephew. Where once he was uncontrollable he is now reliable and I consider him to be my best friend as far as horses go. Mary also saved his life because she recognized the early signs of colic and called my vet to have him cared for immediately. That was when we discovered that he had over 60 pounds of gravel in his belly. Mary over saw the care of my horse while I was at work, making sure that he was given his medications on time and made more comfortable while he passed the gravel out of his system.
