Lunch Break in the Garden

the garden has been preserved.

in a greenworks project,

the office towers have been built around it.

we can stroll in and out, on our lunch breaks,

and take in the sweeping scent

of the daffodils, and the wild grass, growing between the trees

in our fresh suits, we can walk along the marked trails,

and see beauty safely

to the announcers voice,

'look children, we can see the elk over there..and over there..'

then at 5 to 1, after looking down at our watches

we can raise our heads and say

'yep. it's time to go back to work.'

of course there will be a user's fee upon entering the garden

the proceeds will go towards the maintenance costs,

and of course, the rent in a prime downtown spot doesn't come cheap

security guards will be posted at all the entrances

to keep out the homeless and the terrorists

the sanctity of the garden cannot be compromised

and of course for all your business meetings

there will be a closed off VIP section.

of course there will be no smoking in the garden

and the cocktail lounge will be closed

between the hours of 11PM -7AM

bottles of water - 3.00

apples - free.
