The Project continues....
On the left is a "before" shot of driver side and on the right is the installed A post repair panel from Pop Browns. You can also see the paper template that I made to cut the firewall out of 18 gauge cold rolled steel.
Completed rear suspension. All this bracketry and the bars were handmade in my garage. The tubing is 7/8" seamless. Those are chrome coilovers under the yellow plastic.

Completed firewall, steering column with drop and passenger side A post panel installed. The steering column is home made from a piece of thick wall aluminum tubing and the guts out of the Mustang II column. The column drop was whittled out of a piece of 1/2" aluminum I had laying around. It connects to the rack with Flaming River U-joints and double D shaft. The original Bakelite dash will be retained.
All steel repair of upper passenger post and rain gutter(11/00).

This is a 7Y grille from a 1937which is going to need a lot of work. It's also not a perfect fit so I foresee some metal surgery. Inner fender panels are from Bear Fiberglass.

The 302 is a perfect fit. Vise grips will be painted body color.

I had to remove the flange of the new headers and reangle them to get this fit. They now dump right between the frame rail and the steering shaft. I have side panels made that cover that side inner fender panel. I'm waiting until I pull the motor to weld those in.

Why yes, that is the garage floor looking up through the trunk. This along with the trunk lid will be the biggest sheet metal challenge.

A challenge yes, impossible, no.

What a difference a few weeks makes(and a few dollars). Above is new door inner panel I installed and on the left I'm replacing the outer 3 inches of door skin. Take your pick, but I think the green is the original color.
A pretty straight-forward exhaust system. One 24 inch U-bend cut in half and a 18 inch glasspack on each side. It hangs from brackets with standard rubber isolaters from Pep Boys. This is aluminized tubing that will given a coat of POR-15 silver exhaust paint. From the header flange to the tailpipe tip is 5 feet.
