SPANIELS, INC.

On behalf of SPANIELS, INC. we would like to Welcome you to our cyber "pet" web page. This page is devoted to those of you who enjoy pets, especially your dogs.

As co-creator's of this page and SPANIELS, INC. we would like to introduce ourselves to you and then take you on a dog walk through cyber "pet" space.

Hi, my name is "Dillie" and I am a tri-colored American Cocker Spaniel. As you can see from the picture above, I am the one with the black, tan and white markings. Hence, the name tri-colored. I have a silky coat of hair and I am 5 years old.

My friend's name is "Hickory" and she is a 3 year old ASCOB American Cocker Spainel. ASCOB stands for Any Solid Color Other than Black. She is known as a "Buff" colored cocker spaniel for short. Speaking of short, she looks more like a puppy because of her haircut. She has a curley coat of hair that is more managable when it is cut short.

As the founding members of SPANIELS, INC. we both enjoy living a wonderful life in the country. We live in a cabin located on 5 wooded acres in the beautiful Bristol Hills area of the Finger Lakes region of UpState New York.

Even as Cocker Spaniels we both enjoy having special hobbies. We both especially enjoy looking out over our property and watching for all sorts of "visiting" animals. "Dillie" has always had the eye sight of a hawk and can spot approaching animals from what seems to be miles away. She loves to let me know by barking out when she sees any wild animal. We have turkeys, deer, horses, dogs and even fox that approaching our house. Her favorite animal is actually the neighbor's cat!

"Dillie" really does like cats. She just doesn't like them wandering around in her yard. She and I have two Siamese cats named "Sneakers" and "Weezie" and they are house pets.

I am really interested in squrriel and raccoon watching. Living out in the country, I get to see alot of both. I can sit and watch them in my yard for hours. Many times they tease me and start climbing up the side of my house. They know that it drives me crazy and they just do it anyway.

Besides animal watching we both are involved in dog obedience training with a number of our doggie friends. We belong to the Bristol Valley Training Club. This training club is registered with the United Kennel Club (UKC) and promotes the positive aspects of dog training. As members of the club we attend monthly meetings to discuss animal related issues and to socialize! In the warmer months we meet on a weekly basis to practice our obedience skills. Many times the members of our club practice for up coming dog obedience shows and others just practice for fun.

If you have any questions regarding the Bristol Valley Training Club or how to register for 1,2, or all 3 of our UKC Obedience dog shows during August 1-2, 1998 just e-mail our Club President, Holly Anne Waye at: cookhol@aol.com. You can also check our Bristol Valley Training Club link for great information about dog obedience.

Now that we have shared some of our personal information we would like to let you know more about SPANIELS, INC. and why we created it.

The name SPANIELS, INC. is not the name of a major corporation, but the name of our doggie organization. It stands for spaniels, including non-cockers. Being American Cocker Spaniels by breed we really enjoy learning about and visiting with other cocker spaniels when we have the chance. However, we really enjoy all our non-cocker spaniel friends. We especially enjoy all our doggie friends in our obedience club.

As a part of SPANIELS, INC. we wanted to share with you information that we feel is helpful to pet owners and prospective owners. There is a variety of information that will assist you in learning more about Cocker Spaniels, other dog breeds, dog obedience and other dog related issues.

Additionally, "Hickory" and I want to give you some other "cool links" that we found to be informational and entertaining. We give these links "4 PAWS" up! So just "sit", "stay" or even enjoy "heeling" through this "pet" web page.
