Crackers Motorsports

Crackers Motorsports is proud to represent Race Against Drugs and Operation FireSafe
Crackers Motorsports established the TeamKids Safety Program in 1999. TeamKids uses the excitement of racing to attract children's attention; once we have their attention we give them a message about safety and educate them on the issues. Racing can be dangerous -- safety rules in racing are of paramount importance. Race car drivers are a great role model for children concerning safety -- race drivers always wear helmets, they always wear seatbelts, and they know they cannot drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Children come to see us for the race cars and the excitement -- and then leave us with a greater understanding of how important it is to act safely and how to take responsibility for themselves.

TeamKids Safety Program Message
Always wear the proper safety equipment during sports. Just as in car racing, bicycle riding, rollerblading and other fast-moving sports can be dangerous. Without a helmet a fall to the ground can be deadly. To reduce the chance of head injury always wear a certified helmet.
- Bicycle injury rates are highest between the ages of 5 and 15.
- Bicyclists hospitalized with head injuries are 20 times more likely to die than those without.
- It is as important to wear your seatbelt in a car as it is to wear a helmet when bicycle riding. Race car drivers wear seatbelts when racing and at all other times.
- It is always important to pay attention to what is going on around you in order to keep yourself safe: race car drivers must make crucial split-second decisions based on what they observe going on around them and by the feel of the car on the track. There is no time for day-dreaming in a race car.
- Drugs and alcohol are dangerous for your body and brain. They also make it hard for you to act in an safe manner.
- It's a big world -- education is your best bet to finding your way in everything you want to do -- including racing!

TeamKids Program
|
Crackers Motorsports TeamKids Safety Program gets the message out to children in many ways. We make numerous public appearances with our Show Car throughout the tri-state area, at Trade and Car Shows, Malls, Shopping Centers and Schools. At these appearances we talk to children and also have printed information on safety to give them, including a Coloring Book and a Crackers Motorsports TeamKids Autograph Card. On occasion, we will make a display at race tracks with these same materials. The TeamKids emblem is displayed on all cars and also on our trailer, a "traveling billboard". Racing is a family affair; many children attend races with their parents.

TeamKids Schedule
| Crackers Motorsports TeamKids Safety Program has numerous appearances scheduled, including racing in 40-50 events at Accord Speedway and other tracks in the tri-state area. Crackers Motorsports and TeamKids will also be participating in this year's Soap Box Derby in Pearl River, NY, an event for kids 6-16. We will post information on how to get involved in the Derby on our website, as well as in handouts at Public Appearances.
