More than 1,000 law enforcement vehicles from sheriff and police departments, throughout Louisiana made up the motorcade which escorted fallen Sgt. Todd Touchet to the funeral services honoring his life and mourning his death.
St. Anne's Catholic Church in Cow Island could not hold the number of people who attended the service. Hundreds of mourners poured out onto the lawn, while Touchet was eugolized by his partner of three years in undercover narcotics investigations, Sgt. Mike Couvillon. Among these hundreds of people, were state troopers, honor guards, police officers, deputies, city marshalls, assistant district attorneys and other law enforcement officers from many parishes. Touchet had been an officer with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Department for six years and had previously worked for three years with the Phoenix Police Department.

Todd,
It is so hard to try and describe the pain and sorrow felt by everyone whose lives you have touched, especially your lovely wife, two beautiful children, and family. Over the years, I have been acquainted with many people, but few of them would be what I consider true friends. You however, are what I consider to be a very special person in more ways than you can imagine. Besides being a fellow employee, and true friend, you were like a brother to me. I will never forget you and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I ask that you watch over us and guide us in the right direction. And when we meet again, we will certainly be friends forever.
