WHY JOIN?
Why join Venturing?

Its FUN!

The Trips and Adventures are Great

Venturing Advancement is recognized by colleges, with
the top rank  (Silver Award) being treated similiar to an Eagle Scout or Girl Scout gold award
and
If you were a Boy Scout, and made at least First Class rank, you can complete the requirements for Eagle as a Venturer

Venturing Advancement allows you to plan your own path, gaining credit for growth activities you participate in school, church, clubs, etc.
but
Advancement is optional--not required.

Venturing is flexible, with many ways for individuals to be involved.  There are Crew activities, as well as leadership groups at the Council, Regional, and National Level.  There are opportunities for leadership positions in all of the above and with Boy Scout Districts, Troops, or Cub Packs.

Ethical controversies.  A learning lab in morals.  Venturers explore areas where men and women of good will can, and do disagree.  (Typical controversies--Can a lawyer defend a client who admits privately to that lawyer he is guilty?  Are zero tolerance policies at school fair?).  Venturers have to argue one side, and then the other.  They explore common opinion, professional ethics, generational differences in opinion, and relate these to the ethic of the Venturing Code, Scout Oath, and Scout Law.

You can grow while helping others.

Members find Venturing gives them a additional group of friends outside the pressures of conforming, performing, and impressing others in High School.
