Hanger With Heart Sachet

Materials: Two ounces worsted weight acrylic yarn

Crochet hooks size G (or size needed to achieve gauge )

Plastic hanger, two 6" tulle circles,  2 Tbsp. potpourri beads, yarn needle.

Optional: Ribbon, ribbon roses, etc. to decorate as desired

Gauge: Finished heart = 4 ½" high x 5" wide

Make 2 of these hearts

Ch 34; join with a sl st to the first chain (being careful not to twist the chain.)

Round 1: Ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 2 more dc in the same ch; dc in each of the next 6 chs, 2 dc in each of the next 8 chs, (yo, insert hook in the next ch and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops on the hook) 5 times, yo and pull through all 6 remaining loops on hook, 2 dc in each of the next 8 ch, dc in each of the next 6 ch, 2 dc in the same ch as beginning ch 3; join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st as joining (ch 3, skip next dc, sc in the next dc) 11 times, ch 3, skip next dc (insert hook in the next st and pull up a loop) 3 times, yo and pull throuch all 4 remaining loops on hook, (ch 3, skip next dc, sc in the next dc) 11 times, ch 3, sc in the same st as first sc, ch 3, join with a sl st to the first sc.

Make 2 of these

Ch 4, join with a sl st in the first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 7 more dc in the ring; join with a sl st in the top of the beginning ch 3. (8 dc)

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st as joining, (ch 3, sc in the next sc) 7 times, ch 1; join with a hdc in the first sc to form the first ch-3 sp of the next round. (8 ch-3 sps)

Rounds 3-10: Ch 1, sc in the first ch-3 sp, (ch 3, sc in the next ch-3 sp) 7 times, ch 1; join with a hdc in the first sc to form the first ch-3 sp of the next round. (8 ch-3 sps)

Round 11: Ch 4 to count as the first dc and the first ch 1, (dc, ch 1) twice in the next ch-3 sp and in each remaining ch-3 sp around, (dc, ch 1) in the first ch-3 sp; join with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4. (16 dc & 16 ch-1 sps)

Rounds 12-14: Ch 4 to count as the first dc and the first ch 1, (dc in the next dc, ch 1) 15 times; join with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4. (16 dc & 16 ch-1 sps)

Rounds 15-16: Ch 5 to count as the first dc and the first ch 2, (dc in the next dc, ch 2) 15 times; join with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 5. (16 dc & 16 ch-2 sps)

Round 17: Sl st into the next ch-2 sp, ch 1, sc in the same sp, (ch 3, sc in the next ch-2 sp) 15 times, ch 3; join with a sl st in the first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Hanger Assembly

Place the piece from week 2 over one side of the hanger and the piece from week 2 over the other side of the hanger. Whip stitch the pieces together at the center of the hanger.

Sachet Assembly

Place the two tulle circles between the two heart pieces (wrong sides together.) Thread needle with about 24" of yarn. Sew together through the base of the foundation ch 3/4 of the way around through all four thicknesses. Stuff with potpourri beads between tulle layers, the continue sewing closed. Trim tulle. Sew the upper center of the sachet to the upper center of the hanger. Decorate as desired.
