Bonnet Version
Halo/Angel Version
Materials:
4 ply worsted weight yarn:
3 oz. Variegated color (VC)
1 oz. Trim color (TC)
Small amount Buff (less than1 oz.)
 “G” hook
Yarn needle
1 ¼” Lucite ring
Assorted ribbon roses (if desired)
Weave in all ends as you work.

Head:
Round 1:    With buff, chain 2. Work 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook. Join to top of 1st sc.
Round 2:    Chain 2, work 1sc in same space. Work 2 sc in each stitch around. Join. (12 sc)
Round 3:    Chain 2, *work 1 sc in same space. Work 2 sc in next space*.  Repeat around. Join. (18 sc)
Rounds 4-6:    Work even.
Round 7:    Chain 1. Work decrease over next 2 stitches, work 1 sc in next stitch. Repeat around. Join. (12 sc)
Round 8:    Chain 1, decrease over next 2 sc, and repeat around. Join. (6 sc)
    Fasten off buff and stuff lightly.

Upper Body:
Round 1:    With VC join in any stitch. Chain 1; work 1 sc in same space. Work 2 sc in each stitch around. Join. (12 sc)
Round 2:    Chain 3, work 1 dc in same space. Work 2 dc in each stitch around. Join. (24 dc)
Round 3:    Chain 3, *work 2 dc in next stitch, work 1 dc in next stitch*. Repeat around. Join.
(36 dc)
Round 4:    Skip 13 stitches, working through both thicknesses, sc in next 5 stitches. Leave remaining 13 stitches unworked.
Round 5:    Working in FLO (front loop only) work 3 dc in next 5 stitches. Now working along other side in BLO (back loop only), work 3 dc in each of last 5 stitches. Join. (30 dc)

Sleeve Trim:
Round 1:    Join TC with slip stitch in 1st unworked sleeve stitch. Sc in same stitch. Sc in next stitch. Hdc in next stitch. 1 dc in each of next 2 stitches. 1 tr in each of next 3 stitches. 1 dc in each of next 2 stitches. Hdc in next stitch. 1 sc in each of last 2 stitches. Join.
Round 2:    Chain 1, work sc in same space. Chain 3. Repeat sc; chain 3 in each stitch around. Join and fasten off.
    Repeat for the other sleeve.

Skirt:
Round 1:    Chain 3, work 1 dc in next stitch. *Work 2 dc in next stitch. Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches*. Repeat around. Join. (40 dc)
Round 2:    Chain 3, skip 1 stitch. Work 5 dc in next stitch (shell). *Skip 1 stitch. Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches. Skip 1 stitch, work shell in next stitch*. Join. (8 shells with 2 dc between each)
Round 3:    Chain 3, *work shell in center dc of shell on previous row. (Skip remaining dc’s of shell). Work 1 dc in next dc, work 1 dc in space between these 2 dc’s work 1 dc in next dc*. Repeat around. Join. (8 shells with 3 dc between)
Round 4-15:    Work even. (Having shell in shell and 3 dc between each.) Fasten off VC.

Hem:
Round 1:    Join TC with a slip stitch in any stitch. Sc, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, around. Join.
Round 2:    Slip stitch to 1st chain 1 space. Chain 4, dc, chain 1in same space. Dc, chain 1, dc, chain 1in each chain 1 space around. Fasten off TC.
Round 3:    Join VC. Chain 1, *sc, chain 2. Sc in base of this chain 2 (picot made). Sc in next stitch.* Repeat around. Join and fasten off.
Pull string.     With VC chain 50. Fasten off. Weave this chain through round 1 of hem. Leaving an opening large enough to stuff the bags into and tie a bow.

Bonnet:
Round 1:    With TC, chain 2, work 8 sc in 2nd chain from hook. Join.
Round 2:    Work 2 sc in each stitch around. Join. (16 sc)
Round 3:    Work 1 sc in first stitch, work 2 sc in next stitch. Repeat around. Join. (24 sc)
Row 4:    Work 1 sc in each of the 1st 16 stitches. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 5, 6, 7, 8: Work even over these 16 stitches. Fasten off TC.
Row 9:    With VC, chain 25. Attach with sc to 1st sc of row 8. Working across bonnet, work sc, chain 3 in each stitch across. Chain 25. Fasten off. Trim ends carefully.
Halo:
    Join TC with slip stitch on the Lucite ring. Work around ring in sc, filling in nicely. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Hanging loop:
Leaving a 6” length, chain 20. Fasten off leaving another 6” length.
Weave each 6” length into the center back of the head. Double knot and tie a bow.
For bonnet version, pull hanging loop through center of row 4 of the bonnet.
For halo version, pull hanging loop through center back of halo.
