Car Identification: The following information may help identify cars or parts

Chassis No is on front dumb iron to 1930 & on dash on
plate under bonnet 1931 on.

1923
8hp- 4 cyl overhead inlet valves, side exhaust valves.
battery ignition, Cox-Atmos carburettor, leather faced  
cone clutch, 3 speed gearbox, righthand gearlever,
Lucas single unit dynamotor, thermo-syphon cooling,  
Quarter elliptic front & half elliptic rear springs,
7ft 10 1/2" wheelbase.

11hp- 4 cyl, magneto ignition, 4 speed gearbox, 9ft 1"
wheelbase, 760 x 90 tyres, similar construction to 8hp.

15.9hp- 4 cyl, magneto ignition, 10ft 3" wheelbase,
820 x 120 tyres, water pump cooling, similar construction
to 8hp

1924
8hp- almost no change except for optional magneto ign.

11hp- almost unchanged, high tension leads now led
through fan bracket.

15.9hp- clutch lined with Ferodo instead of leather.
force feed lubrication of inlet valve rockers instead of
drip feed.

1925
8/18hp- almost unchanged, magneto ignition now standard.

12/25hp- almost unchanged, tyres now 765 x 105

15/40hp- almost unchanged, sightly increased bore.

1926
9/20hp- 8/18hp redesigned, Auto-vac tank with petrol
tank at rear 3 speed gearbox with righthand gearlever,
brake on transmission immediately behind gearbox,
8ft 6" wheelbase, 4ft track

12/25hp-now has brake on transmission immediately behind
gearbox. 760 x 105 tyres

15/40hp- 4 wheel brakes now standard

1927
9/20hp- 4cyl semi elliptic springs all round

14/40hp- 4cyl 9ft 8" wheelbase 31 x 4.75 tyres

15/40- 4cyl 10ft 6" wheelbase, 31 x 5.25 tyres, last
year for this model

20/25hp- 6 cyl Magneto ignition, water pump cooling with
thermostat, cone clutch, 4 speed gearbox, semi elliptic
springs, 31 x 5.25 tyres, 10ft 6in wheelbase, starter
has 2 to 1 reduction to enable starter to spin motor
fast, radiator has distinctive, almost octagonal shape
fan driven water impellor.

1928
9/20hp- front wheel brakes now completely enclosed and
operating levers carried on front axle beam, shock absorbers
standard, also spring gaiters, radiator higher, steering  
wheel lower, 2-way petrol tap gives 1 gallon reserve.

14/40hp- shock absorber between engine & dashboard,
single plate clutch instead of cone, higher radiator &
lower steering wheel.

20/55hp- automatic spark advance on magneto, single plate
clutch coupled to gearbox by short shaft with fabric
joint at each end, brakes have Dewandro vacuum servo
motor, radiator further forward, headlights set higher,
body lower on frame.

1929
9/28hp- single plate clutch replaces cone, new radiator
design, taller & narrower.

14/40hp- unchanged, last year of model

16/50hp- 6cyl 10ft 2" wheelbase, 4ft 8" track, 3 speed
