CRUISE TREK '02 PHOTOS & QUOTES
My favorite quote is from Wil Wheaton… “Cruise Trek attracts the friendliest and nicest people…” Indeed!
Fiona said “Thank you so much… Please keep sailing so that others can experience the same fun!”
From Dave W…”as the saying goes, you really had to be there. I can sum up my overall feelings about my first Cruise Trek in one word: awesome! It turned out to be just about everything I had heard, and hoped, that it would be. My wife Pat and son Ben and I had never been on a cruise before, nor had we been to Alaska. Both parts of the experience were wonderful for all of us.”
Carolyn P. writes about our evening ashore at a local restaurant and after several of us went hiking & pub-crawling… “I don't think “The Twisted Fish” in Juneau will ever be the same… who knows what awaits us in Hawaii.” Looking forward to more of the same fun!!
Claudia D. said, “Wil was such a good sport about it all being Wesley’s fault and his comedy troupe was so funny, my sides still hurt from all the laughing.”
From Michele B… “I had a fantastic time! Everyone was super friendly and the ports were gorgeous… I really enjoyed the ST games and shows we had.”
Gordon M… “Charlie, Deb and Eric once again prepared an amazing event. Denise, Wil, Ethan and the improv troupe were great and I have memories that will be with me and make me laugh forever.”
Edward T… “I must say the cruise part was fantastic. I wasn't really sure how it would go. So I arrived with mixed feeling but an open mind. Now I know, just how great the whole thing is. A real chance of a life time.”

Ports of Call:
Vancouver, British Columbia: Sophisticated. Culturally diverse, this beautiful port city brims with attractions. From Vancouver's cosmopolitan downtown to the historically renovated Gastown district and exotic Chinatown, Vancouver displays varied urban scenes. Nestled near the city center is Stanley Park, resplendent with its deep forest, totem poles, and scenic promenades.
Juneau, Alaska: In Alaska's capital, taste salmon baked over an alder wood fire, pan for gold, flightsee the Juneau Ice Field, and walk right up to the Mendenhall Glacier.
Skagway, Alaska: A frontier town perfectly preserved as the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park. Gateway to the Trail of '98, which you may explore by helicopter or vintage railcar.
Scenic Cruising Glacier Bay National Park: No one shows you Glacier Bay like Holland America, with more visits than any other cruise line. Witness a world still emerging from the Ice Age-16 tidewater glaciers in action.
Ketchikan, Alaska: Immerse yourself in Tlingit Indian culture as you view the world's largest collection of totem poles; kayak the colorful waterfront.

The luxurious new ms Volendam is one of the newest members of Holland America's "next generation" of cruise ships. The Volendam reflects a graceful combination of classic and state-of-the-art features found on board both the ms Rotterdam flagship and the Statendam-class vessels. Special features include an alternative restaurant, Internet center, a third staircase for convenient access to public rooms and a children's play room, as well as more of the popular mini-suites with verandahs. The Volendam's predominant theme is flowers--from the 17th to the 21st centuries--featured in the ship's artwork and interior design elements.

Alaska is one of Cruise Trek’s favorite destinations – Alaska’s Inside Passage! Sailing past evergreen forests, tumbling waterfalls, and creeping glaciers on one of the most popular cruise routes around. Ports of call include historic Skagway, charming Ketchikan, and the capital city of Juneau!

When explorer John Muir first sailed the Inside Passage he could hardly tear himself away from the rail for fear of missing some new marvel. "Never before", he wrote, "have I been embosomed in scenery so hopelessly beyond description tracing shining waves through fjord and sound, past forests and waterfalls, islands and mountains."
