Copenhagen, Denmark: One of Europe's oldest and most charming capitals, Copenhagen was recently crowned the third best city in the world to live in. Copenhagen's status as a "hip city" was underscored in spring 2004, when the capital was named one of the ten coolest cities in the world by a British trend and lifestyle magazine. Still, the more than 800-year-old city has a relaxed atmosphere and an appreciation of the cozy side of life - the famous Danish "hygge" - but without going overboard, thanks to the easy-going Scandinavian mentality. Don’t miss a chance to visit Tivoli Gardens, Rosenborg Castle, and the Little Mermaid or see the Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace. Tallinn, Estonia: Tallinn is an amazing and delightful place. It's also an attractive travel destination thanks to its rich cultural heritage and medieval old town. On the other side, it's also an extraordinarily modern city which is fast becoming the place to do business in the Baltic. Add innumerable diverse cultural sites and wonderful bargain shopping and you have a city that is a “must see” when you visit the Baltic Region. Be sure to walk up the cobblestone road to visit the onion-domed Orthodox cathedral and walk along the original medieval fortifications of old town Tallinn – all within walking distance of the ship.

St. Petersburg, Russia: Few cities in the world can offer so many stunning attractions and intriguing moods as St. Petersburg - City of the Czars. Through the sunny summer days and endless twilights of the famous White Nights, St. Petersburg casts its own unique spell over visitors. Founded by Peter the Great in 1703 to be his "window on Europe," St. Petersburg combines its fascinating Russian heritage with a distinctly European outlook. Considered the cultural heart of modern day Russia, St. Petersburg is rapidly regaining a reputation as one of the Great Cities of Europe. Helsinki, Finland: Helsinki is a modern European cultural city whose urban cosmopolitan lifestyle exists in perfect harmony with nature. Surrounded by the sea and its own exotic archipelago, Helsinki offers visitors an endless number of possibilities. Just as Helsinki cannot be described in one word, neither can it be experienced in just one way. Helsinki really does have something for everyone. The Orthodox and Lutheran cathedrals are just two of the many amazing places to visit within walking distance of the harbor. Not to mention the amazing open markets and pastry shops!

Stockholm, Sweden: Stockholm is a city full of history and something for every taste. It has an abundance of cafes, restaurants, stores and parks. Take a walk down the cobbled-stoned streets of Gamla Stan (the old town), gaze up at the narrow houses of yesteryear and you will certainly feel the vibrations of the horse driven carriages and hear the baker boasting about the freshness of his cinnamon rolls centuries before you. While you're in the neighborhood, why not drop in and visit the Royal Castle where Swedish kings and queens have resided since the 1200's. Or visit a Viking museum and discover the land of the Nordic people who discovered America!

Visby, Gotland Sweden: The only real city on Gotland is its capital Visby with 22,000 inhabitants. The city plays host to over 500,000 visitors during the summer months. It also has the largest number of restaurants per capita in Sweden. The city is almost one large museum with ruins and medieval buildings in almost every corner of the immaculate cobblestone streets, which are enclosed within the beautiful ring wall. Visby is a World Heritage city because of its unique Middle Ages environment.

Warnemünde, Germany: Warnemünde is a charming little fishing village and is located at the mouth of the Warnow, a little river which becomes a bigger lake just before flowing into the Baltic Sea. The town of Rostock is settled at the shores of this lake and is just a short ferry ride up the river. Both towns are wonderful places to walk and shop and the local people are delightful; both offer lots of restaurants and pubs. (Warnemünde is also a gateway for day tours to Berlin via bus or train.)
