Nancy & John Babyak - Kidwelly
We have been involved with Cardigans since 1987, and are considered a "small" breeder in that we have one litter about every eighteen months. We belong to the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club Of America, the Delaware Valley Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club, the Bluebonnet Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club, and the Yankee Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club. Our involvements also include membership in the Greenwich Kennel Club, the Owner Handler Association, and the Stewards Club of America.
Nancy first started showing dogs in breed competition as well as Junior Showmanship in 1970 with her Old English Sheepdog.

Our Cardigan Family
Cardigans are fondly known as "the big dog in a small package." They are intelligent spirited dogs who thrive in a community setting. Presently we have five Cardis in our family. Except when the "girls" are in-season, everyone runs together with no fighting. We primarily breed black & white and brindle, although color is not a major factor to us. Our Cardis are family members first, and are the top babysitters for our two toddlers. We presently have three males and two females, with colors ranging from black & white, brindle, to blue merle. Our Cardis have been active in the show ring, herding, agility, and two are registered Therapy Dogs.
Our Cardi's achievements include AKC Championships, AKC Canine Good Citizenship recognition, registration with Therapy Dogs International, herding instinct testing, and a regional specialty winner. We remain active in the show ring, and exhibit almost yearly at the Westminster Kennel Club.

What Is Important
Temperment is number one. Our aim is to place our puppies in good homes where they will be trained, taken care of, and loved. Cardigan puppies are smart and need strict monitoring. Being a part of the family is their chief goal. Our entire line has been tested and is genetically clear for PRA.
Cardigans are happy entertaining dogs. They have strong ties to their home and families, and are protective by nature. Originally bred to herd cattle, they are strong willed yet aim to please. They want to be included in all activites. Cardigans are a "thinking" dog and are dedicated to their families.
