A Most Unusual Fabrics Store--
If you've reached this site, then you probably already know something about our stores which were called 19th Century Clothiers & Dry Goods, and Historic Fabrics. We sell authentic museum line reproduction fabrics, antique buttons and trims, antique silk millinery ribbon, mid-century clothing patterns, steel cage crinolines, a wide range of millinery buckrams, corsetry supplies, and we also go about doing workshops. Bascially we have anything a man, woman, or child would want for authentic, living history period clothing.
One major change of our business is that we no longer keep a storefront open every day, plus we shortened the name to just CW Drygoods. We still get out and enjoy doing the civil war and gold rush events, but for the most part, this is the only way to really see what we have, and even then, we don't bring everything with us to each event. After having two stores for 17 years, we just needed a break, and we like to take it easy.

2008 Costume & Quilting Classes --
Every month, we like to get out and offer a free period clothing workshop. We've finished all of the workshops for 2007 and are now coming up with a new list of classes for next year, such as; a corded bonnet, a corded stay, a quilted petticoat, a nightgown, a series of visiting aprons, a few new day cap styles, a quilted winter bonnet with wrap sides, and possibly an open wrapper neglige, and last men's overshirts and drawers. If you want to see links for upcoming workshops, visit the NCWA site and click on 'workshops.' Another great site to visit is the West Coast Campainger which is a good deal of fun. The mourning workshop was quite successful, and other workshops are in the works, such as; day caps, sleeping caps, fancy headdress, a CW nightgown, quilted petticoat, and a few other clothing itmes. The bonnet workshop for Columbia has been postponed, when the date is settled, it will be posted here.
