History of the John Reily Chapter Hamilton, OH
On Feb. 15, 1896, The John Reily Chapter, D.A.R. was organized. The first Regent was Mrs. Josephine Campbell Rathbone. The founders chose the name because John Reily was "A servant of his country in peace and war". He served with Nathaniel Greene during the American Revolution and was the first Butler County Clerk of Courts. He opened a school in this area and taught English for many years.
