 "The Mudbug" Speeder & Trailer

ATTENTION:  Some time in 2006, Bachmann introduced a NEW version of their HO Brill trolley with a can motor.  The new version will NOT fit into the 371 Mudbug kit.  Kit requires the OLD version shown at bottom of page.  We plan to make a new speeder kit to fit the updated mechanism in 2007.
A terrific little Speeder & Trailer just crawling with detail and loaded with character.  Ideal for small & large railroads with many uses:

* Track Inspection *
* Fire Fighting *
* Weed Spraying *
*Crew Transport *
* Track Maintenance *

Endless possibilities & detailing opportunities!

#371 Mudbug & Trailer .... $39.95

Kit includes high-quality, detailed resin castings for BOTH the Speeder and the Trailer car.  Highly recommended as an "entry level" project or for experienced modelers -- includes detailed instructions with assembly illustrations & tips.

Speeder body includes detailed radiator, separate door castings for thin window profile, removable roof with crisp tar-paper detail cast in place, grab irons for doors, window material and an outside frame chassis that provides an easy spring-lock for the power truck (see "requirements" below).  (Doors are non-operating.)

Trailer car includes one-piece chassis with heavy metal wheelsets for excellent tracking, detailed deck with brake wheel and ratchet, separate pedestal faceplates and material for frame bracing as shown.  Narrow deck allows for the addition of stakes and other details for your customization projects.

371 Mudbug requires the OLD (pre-2006) style mechanism shown at right.

This version has a "sandwiched" motor casing as seen here.  The new version with can motor will NOT fit into the kit!
Requirements / What you'll need:

(a) Power truck from OLD-style (pre-2006) Bachmann HO scale Brill trolley shown here, (b) two pair Kadee #5 couplers, (c) paint & glue.  (These items are not included in the kit.)

Instructions include tips for easy disassembly of the Brill trolley -- and the spring-lock underframe of The Mudbug allows for easy installation.  These power trucks run great ... with a little break-in, your Mudbug will crawl along the track at realistic speeds!
