About Me

My name is Dee and I live in Eastern Ohio with my husband George.  I have three children and three grandchildren.  I saw my first Chinese Crested when I went to a local AKC dog show.  Upon reaching the Chinese Crested show ring, my heart just gave way.  I fell in love with them at first sight and knew  they were the breed for me.  A picture is all it took for my husband to feel the same way as I did.
I did alot of researching on their breed, then it was time to find a special Crested for us.  Finding one locally was impossible, so I turned to my Laptop and the internet, there I  found a special  Crested named Tri-Cas Nunya Business who just won our hearts.   "Nunya".
A year later, while I was on my laptop I thought that it my be time to get Nunya a companion to play with, that is when Tri-Cas Bare-Ly Legal joined the family.   Six months later we looked for a female and found Clear-Ly Luv Struck at Unicorn, who is  a very flashy black and white puff.   Now to come up with a kennel name.
Since all  of our Cresteds were purchased on my laptop, I thought what better name could we have for our kennel name, "Laptop Chinese Cresteds"
Be sure to stop by and visit our Cresteds websites listed below.......

Introduction

The Chinese Crested comes in two varieties, the hairless, which has hair on the head (plume) and feet (socks) and tail (plume), giving them the appearance like a Clydesdale pony.  The powderpuff which has a full body of hair, looking like a mininature Afagan.
The hairless requires "grooming of the skin" due to not having hair to protect it.  You will need such products such as sunscreen, moisturizers ,and cleansing products. I suggest that you do plenty of reading about Chinese Cresteds before you make the decision to purchase one.
The Chinese Crested are very intelligent, funny ,silly, loving and active dogs......that will control "YOU" forever.  They love to give plenty of kisses "ALL" day long, love to cuddle in your lap, then all of a sudden they will go ripping through the house.  They play much like a cat.
Cresteds are true Companion dogs, which make them wonderful therapy dogs.

 Crested History

Chinese Cresteds go back to 2000 BC.  They are belived to arrived in China during the Han Dynasty around 200 BC to 200 AD.
The Chinese Merchants used them as ratters on their shipping vessels because of the lack of fleas on their hairless body.  They were used to control the plaque which was carried by fleas.  The Cresteds act much like cats and have a very different personality than other dogs.
The first AKC record of Chinese Cresteds was in the spring of 1885.  Gypsy Rose Lee and Mrs. Debra Woods purchased Chinese Cresteds from all over the world......these ladies are mostly responsible for the breed in the United States.
In the spring of 1991, the AKC accepted them as a standard breed.  They have been becoming more popular due to the movies, 101 and 102 Dalmations and Cats and Dogs along with several more.

        A little warning:
You will not be able to own just one Crested!!!
