Welcome to Dan Masters' Civil War page!

Listed below are my Civil War web projects on numerous Ohio and Indiana regiments. I am currently compiling information for an upcoming book on the Battle of Stones River which is my primary research activity, but I work on my regimental sites from time to time and add information as I get it.

I love to hear from any descendants from any of these regiments who drop by. Please email me if there's anything you'd like to see added to the site, or just to say hello. I am always looking for suggestions as to what I can do to make the site more useful.

I will try posting recent photos I have of Private Nial Spring of Co. I and QM Sergeant James M. Cunning, 67th OVI when I can get some more webspace.

Its has been a long while since I have updated the website but want to make the announcement that the Wood County World War I newspapers letters index is complete and is in process of being hosted by the Center for Archival Collections at BGSU. The index consists of 14 newspapers with over 700 different correspondents who served in units throughout the Army. I plan on doing some more work with the 67th Ohio section of the website this summer, but for the most part all the good stuff stays as is. Links will be posted when this new database is up and operating.

As regards the Civil War, the county histories database is slowly coming along, but with the completion of the World War I index, it will have a higher priority to be completed. Its should be done by the end of the summer and will be hosted here more than likely- it will be a huge document to upload.
