  Cultural meaning: the Greek dye Easter eggs red for good luck. In India, red represents a solider.

  History: the Romans believed a red flag was a symbol for battle.  The ancient Greeks believed red coral to be a symbol of immortality.  The Bolsheviks used a red flag, which became the communist flag.

  Fun facts: Red is a stimulant in the healing process.  It increases blood flow and energizes the body.  To paint the town red means to celebrate and party.  If you dream of the color red, it is a warning to calm your temper.

  Cultural meaning: western cultures believe purple to be associated with royalty.  Women in Thailand wear purple to mourn the death of their husbands.  The Native American believe purple to mean wisdom, gratitude, and healing

  Fun facts: A Purple Heart is an award given to soldiers who were wounded or died in battle

  History:  Cleopatra loved the color purple and had her servants soak 20,000 Purpa snails for more than a week to get an ounce of purple dye.

Cultural meaning: The Russians believed red meant beauty.  In India, red represents purity for weddings

  Fun facts: wear a lot of red because it shows that you can handle things.  A “red letter” day is one of special importance or meaning.  Body builders report a 10 % gain in muscle size when the gym is pink.  Amazon river dolphins are pink.  Red is one of the most easily recognized colors in the daylight.  Therefore, traffic lights, stop signs, and fire trucks are painted red so that people can see them coming from far away.  It is believed that red is the first color a baby sees.  Pastries taste better when they come out of a pink box or served on a pink plate.
