Illusions of a Dancing Heart
Illusions of a Dancing Heart
The Letter

I picked up my Grandmother's Bible today and began to turn through the pages.  Its contents contained many stories I am sure. I saw all the markings, of great meaning no doubt, little notes tucked between the pages, things not to be forgotten, even a picture here and there.  Suddenly, feeling the invader, I
reached to lay it down, when to my feet fell an
envelope brown with age.
Bending to pick it up and return it to its rightful place dimly scratched upon the paper I read the words:
MY HEART
Unable to resist, I knew I must see what was in my Grandmother's heart. I then unfolded the papers in my hands and there before me was yet another story left untold.  My eyes unveiled the story of an undying love. This is what I saw; this is what I read:
My Darling,
I have known you before my time and our love was before conception.  Our love had its place in the beginning before we knew it was meant to be.  We, then, were born and now lost in time.  I've felt your arms.
Now we have played in the night
and I, my love, have tasted your charm.
I am a prisoner of your love; there is no pain strong enough to drive me away.
You can run my love, run fast as you can, for my heart is yours, no, not mine, and the chains of sweet memories keep me here waiting, waiting, only the knowing of dreams.  Needing life is what I have now.
I gave it all to you; I became one with you.  It had to be.
Yet, I am still waiting alone with the dreams of passions shared,
desiring to hear your laughter as I once did, wanting only to see your smile again.
Can you not see you are the life I live?  You are the air I breathe, and I am, and I am still waiting.
The letter was signed, Yours forever, and so the mystery unfolds. Unspent love still in my grandmother's heart.
