Who Am I?

I am an adventurous, compassionate post-modernist who's not afraid to take calculated risks. I have an unconventional sense of humor and love to travel. I am an ethical vegan who believes in social justice for all life forms, but I don't "preach" my ideas to those who refuse to listen. Although I consider myself agnostic, I believe Mother Nature is the ultimate arbiter of justice. If we commit acts of righteousness, we will be rewarded, but if we cause unnecessary harm to others, or treat them as instruments, we will be justly punished. Every act we commit comes back to us seven-fold. I know I am far from perfect, but I make my best effort to help others in my daily habits.

My Online Life

I try to avoid spending too much time online, although it can be a wealth of information and a great place to meet new friends. I don't waste my time with most chat rooms. If I meet someone online who I want to get to know better, I am always open to new opportunities, as long as sincerity and compassion are at the core.

My Interests

I enjoy many different types of film, including comedy, action, drama, sci-fi, horror and romance on occasion. My favorite sports (as a participant, not spectator) are tennis, volleyball, bowling and running. I also like to skydive once in a while, abseil (rapelling downward), rockclimb, canyoning, hiking, camping and any other rugged high adventure activity that's not life-threatening. My favorite novelist is Stephen King, probably due to his wry humor, though I'm always open to other authors who can spin an adventurous tale, such as Michael Tobias and Peter Hoeg. Most of the books I have read deal with animal rights, feminism, ecology, nutrition and philosophy. I enjoy certain stand-up comics, particularly George Carlin, Ellen Degeneres and Janine Garofolo. The most talented and wittiest comedians, IMHO, are those who subvert the dominant paradigm by mocking patriarchal and Republican values. Some of my favorite bands are the Beatles, Consolidated, Paul McCartney, the Beach Boys, fugazi, Roy Orbison, Guns & Roses, Sarah McLachlan and Harry Connick, Jr.
