A Message from Richard...
A Message from Richard...
As many of you may, or may not, know, up until a couple of months ago 2005 was a year of great uncertainty for me. I was out of work, feeling useless, and doubtful that the future held much promise. It is a terrible feeling being out of work, trying desperately to find the means that will support your family in the years to come, only to come up empty time, after time, after time again.
I even began to question my faith in God- a faith that has brought me so much comfort and joy over the last several years that words cannot adequately describe it. Instead of turning away from God, however, I recommitted myself to prayer- asking the Lord to guide me to where I needed to be in life. And in time, as always, my prayers were heard and answered in full.
Now that my life is settling down again, I still find myself in a reflective state of mind- this time reflecting upon how truly blessed I am. I have a wonderful family and the means to support them. I have a home, food on the table, and, most importantly, a renewed Christian faith.
I have also been blessed with a certain amount of creative ability, both in my writing and artwork, that has allowed me to enjoy a tremendous amount of personal satisfaction. In my current state of reflectiveness, I have given a lot of thought as to how, as a Christian, I can "give back" some of the blessings I have received to help others. Others who are desperately in need of both a spiritual and financial boost...
A few months ago, our family became affiliated with Compassion International, a Christian organization that provides assistance to needy children around the world by encouraging sponsorship from families like yours and mine. With all of my heart, I feel that Compassion International is doing a beautiful, worthwhile thing in a world that so desperately thirsts for compassion and mercy.
With this in mind, and through Christ's will and guidance, I have made a personal decision to support the works of Compassion International by contributing 50% of all proceeds from online sales of my books and merchandise to this most worthwhile charity. Let me reiterate: For every copy of Final Death, Total Darkness, Sanctum of the Mind, and Leech that is purchased, half of my proceeds will be donated to Compassion. Additionally, the same applies to every piece of Richard Dean merchandise available at www.cafepress.com/richarddean.
It has always been my goal to entertain, scare, and sometimes enlighten my readers with my creations. Now, I have the opportunity to do something far more valuable with the gifts I have been given. Now, more than ever, I wholeheartedly invite and encourage you to experience my work and, much more importantly, make an impact upon the life of a child who desperately needs our help.

Thank you for your continued interest in my work and God bless!
