EMOTICONS

Just a silly little poem
(Teresa -- this one's for you!)

What are these funny symbols seen
every time you read the screen?
Colon dash parenthesis,
or U with a diæresis,
shows happiness, that things are fine:
it's shorthand in the world online.
A left-parenthesis shows sorrow
(wish this guy a good tomorrow).
An apostrophe is what you seek
to show a teardrop on a cheek.
A halo worn upon the head
adds innocence to what's been said.
Now is there any room for doubt?
This one's tongue is sticking out!
The next one's easy, stop and think:
a semi-colon shows a wink!
in braces means you're hugged
(it shows a heartstring has been tugged).
Colon dash and asterisk?
Lucky you! You've just been kissed!
