I think the best way to describe the ABA Keystone Kops is to say we are a Pie-In-The-Face Slapstick Comedy Unit.Our goal for parades and appearances is to bring laughter to the audience using the old "you know its coming" comedy routines. In our routines there really is no suprise, you know whats going to happen and we hope it brings a laugh before the gag is complete.
In our unit we have two levels of membership. First is the Patrolman. This is a full fledged member who buys a uniform and participates in all the functions, parades etc.
The second is a Reservist. Basically an associate member who can attend the meetings, functions and so forth but does not parade.
We have already had a great Float Trip this year, a couple of Happy Hours with the Ladies and plan on having more unit events as time goes on.
One thing being discussed for the unit is having a Screening Clinic for the kids. We haven't made a decision yet on this but it is a worth while event that can help the children and we would like to do somthing along these lines to help the Shrine.
