David McDaniel started painting at age ten. He studied art at St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 1970. He frequently exhibits in New York City, his home since graduation from St Ambrose. David's work has been included in numerous national and local group exhibitions, and has won several awards.

David also works in professional theatre, performing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, national tours, in addition to films and television.

He was a member of the comedy/musical group, Gotham, which consistently sold out such diverse venues as Carnegie Hall and nightclubs from london to Los Angeles from 1972 to 1992. Gotham recorded three albums and appeared on national television.
