Here's what she had to say about Dawn Jamboree:
It totally RAWKED!!!  OMG!  Robin, De, Kathy and Babs did a spectacular job,
and it all went off with nary a hitch.  After the Buffalo convention, I raved
to Rick about how beautiful NY state is.  After this trip, I'm ready to move to
the Finger Lakes region.  This state has to have it all!  The scenery in
Watkins Glen is spectacular, and there seems to be something for everyone.  I'm
hoping to go back sometime (soon?!) during the winter months to check it out
again. I need to know how much snowfall they get!!!  LOL
Meanwhile, aside from our "old buddies" Babs, Dana, De, Mare and Angie, April
and I got to meet many previously un-met Dawnettes including Robin, Kathy B.,
Wendy B., and Meredith.  Please forgive me if I've left someone out...as
always, the whole weekend was a blur of new faces and activity.  Everyone was
wonderful, and I feel extremely proud and fortunate to know all of you.  The
children were a joy, and it was fun to see them playing together.  The husbands
are to be commended for their tolerance, and I think (hope?) that they came
away with a new understanding of their wive's love of Dawn.  It's not just the
dolls...it's the kinship we feel toward each other.  :- )
Most of what you will see was contained in the gear bag.  The bandana backdrop,
the cup on the left, the pencils (imprinted with "Dawn Doll Jamboree 2002 NY"),
the mini (by Babs), the bumper sticker (proclaiming that "I survived the
Jamboree" which is obscured by the trophy), the glow stick, the plaque, and a
t-shirt (which as I type is in the washer!) and a magnet.  The outfits modeled
by Dale and Glori as well as the trophy, were part of my prize in the HTF
contest. Dale's outfit was made by Christine, and Glori's was made by Louise
McReynolds.  I SO love them both!  De presented me with the (EXTREMELY lovingly
restored) diamond mini, and I got one of the magnets and the tanned Indian
Glori by way of the Survivor game.  Again, I apologize if I forgot to mention
something.  I reiterate, it's always a blur.  ; - )
Man!  You all should have been there!  I can hardly wait 'til Vegas!!!

These are Mare's Prizes from the raffle!
I just want to let everyone know how much of a great time I had, and how
lucky I was to be able to join such a great group of Dawnettes.
It sure was good getting together with Babs, Angie, Robin, Kathie, De, Wendy
S, and Dana again.  And it was quite a pleasure to meet Wendy B and Meredith
for the first time.  They were just as cool as I anticipated!
I also want to thank Babs for going the extra 9 yards to see to it that I
would not miss this affair.  And it was great riding up with Angie.  She
gave me positive vibes prior to the drive and all through out the trip.
Most people know that I am a "Nervous Nellie" when it comes to driving long
distances and into unfamiliar places.  But Angie came through and convinced
me that we could handle the drive, and lol, we sure did!
De, you were a great incentive too, you told me all along that you saw me
coming to this event, and that it was something that I did not want to miss.
You were so right!  The scenery was beautiful, the video was OOAK, and the
Dawnettes along with their families were delightful.
I believe everyone made out well with this affair.  No one walked away empty
handed, and everyone walked away with fond memories I'm sure.  I know that I
did.
I managed to win the "Miss Manners" award for being the first one knocked
off of Survivor.  Just for the record, I wasn't voted off, I just was way
off the numbers, lol!  I did get a nice Dawn mug and magnet.
As for the door prizes, I was lucky enough to win the Jane & Tarzan scenario
made by Kathie, along with Dawn and her tent camp scenario (I'm sorry, I do
not remember who did this, was it you, Babs?), and a beautiful Pippa reroot
by Babs and she is wearing a Louise S. custom outfit (one that I wanted)
from her boutique, and I was also the lucky winner of the Shelly cape custom
creation.  Ohhhh, I wanted that so bad too.....
Also, I want to thank everyone who contributed to the Jamboree Survival
Gear!  There were plenty of nice goodies in the bag, and I especially love
the Jamboree T-shirt which was very talented designed by Robin.
Thanks again everyone for a great time & fond memories!
Mare :)
