Thank you for checking our policy and information page. Rather a boring page with no pictures, we consider it important as it covers a number of our policies and requirements.
We have a deep concern for each and every puppy we cause to be born. It is very important to us that each and every puppy get a committed and loving home. To this end, we have several mandatory requirements for purchase. If you are considering contacting us about a puppy, please take a few moments to review this page, as it will answer many questions you may have. Please keep in mind this page is just for information purposes only. Contracts, prices and requirements may vary.
Basic Home Requirements
Whether you are looking for show or companion, we want our dogs to be loved members of the family. We require dogs purchased from us be maintained as housepets. While every Dane needs outdoor time, we are not interested in selling to homes who wish to keep a dog in outside living conditions and/or kennel situations all of the time. A home check may be required.
Containment
For the safety of the dog and to provide adequate "free romping" time, we require our homes have securely-fenced yards of a size suitable for a Great Dane. Fencing must be well-built and at least 5 feet high. We do not consider "invisable" fences a satisfactory means of containment. Acreage is not a suitable reason for lack of fencing.
Where We Sell To
Although we sometimes make exceptions, we generally sell pet puppies only to the West Coast. Show puppies going to experienced homes can be sold to anywhere in the United States and Canada. We will entertain inquiries from other countries but reserve the right to not sell a puppy unless we feel the home is suitable.
Pet Puppies
We require all pet puppies be altered. There is no exception to this policy. We feel far too many inexperienced owners enter into breeding with little or no knowledge about the breed and proper breeding practises, resulting in far too many Danes entering rescue programs. Breeding should be done only after many years of ownership, education and with a proper mentor.
Show Puppies
A puppy sold as show quality is expected to be shown. We do not sell show puppies into pet homes who have no interest in showing.
