We are currently living in a time of unique and exciting opportunities!
Never before in human history have we had such a powerful body of accumulated knowledge in so many areas of study and learning!
Never before have we had such clear, factual knowledge about what contributes to, or detracts from, our overall health and well-being - whether physical, emotional, psychological, or intellectual.
Never before have we had such an OPPORTUNITY to APPLY this diverse and wonderous knowledge and wisdom towards evaluating our past and current endeavors.
And - most importantly - never before have we had such an opportunity to knowledgeably and wisely SELECT the type of FUTURE we wish to have!
We are living in a time of incredible opportunity and potential! We can fulfill the dreams of those who have gone before us, and create a better world for ourselves and those who will come after us.
The information and knowledge is here - NOW.
All we have to do is USE IT!

We Need To Start Thinking In NEW WAYS!
We need to BREAK OUT from our historical HABIT of viewing various "fields" of knowledge as separate, unrelated bunches of "facts".
Our approach to knowledge understandibly developed that way due to our need to separate our search for knowledge into "manageable" units.
Thus the trend towards "specialization" in learning, research, and "profession"
This approach has benefitted mankind enormously through dramatic advances in knowledge in numerous areas, such as science (including environmental science), medicine, disease prevention, agriculture, psychology, psychiatry, Etc.
Focused learning and research in specific fields has brought - and continues to bring - great results! And of course it should continue!
But with this tremendous knowledge we have in so many diverse fields now also comes an ADDITIONAL important and exciting task; COMBINING and CORRELATING all these areas of knowledge in order to extract ADDITIONAL critical knowledge and information that each area, separately, cannot provide.
What type of "additional" knowledge would this be?
It would be knowledge that addresses the eternal human questions we have to this very day; "What are we doing wrong?", "What are we doing right?", "WHAT OUGHT WE BE STRIVING TO BECOME?"
More and more, we are addressing the first two questions.
But it is the third question, "What OUGHT we be striving to become?" that can ONLY be answered by examining the COMBINED truths of our MANY fields of knowledge, together with our religious and spiritual understandings and tenets.
Until we can confidently answer that third question, we will have no vision. We will have no agreed-upon, practical goals that can unite us, lead us, direct us, inspire us, and give us long range hope and confidence.
Without such long-range vision, we have no yardstick against which we can measure and evaluate CURRENT societal policies and trends, and
determine whether or not they contribute to our long-term benefit.
To put it the other way, WITH clearly envisioned, practical long-range societal goals before us, we will KNOW what to DO. NOW.
And we WOULD do it, as a people, because it is our nature to do what we KNOW is right!
And THAT will have a tremendously positive impact on each and every one of us. NOW.
This Web site will be devoted to the further discussion of these subjects, particularly the description and evaluation of long-term societal goals. And how you, the reader, can get involved in furthering this effort.
We don't hear much from our political or educational leaders about long-range societal goals. Perhaps they do not yet realize that there is currently a large enough and diverse enough body of available knowledge to confidently enter into such discussions.
But we can do so. Right now.
With a little effort, and a little luck, we can help bring such discussion to the national, and eventually international, level.
The opportunity is here, now.
We can now see the forest THROUGH the trees!

Who am I?
My name is Perry Cohen.
I am a 53 yr old married man, former science teacher, social activist, currently working with adult mentally ill.
I am deeply committed to helping bring about beneficial social change, and after 30 years of research, I have concluded that, for the first time in human history, we have amassed a general body of knowledge and experience sufficient to allow us to set valid, agreed-upon, LONG RANGE societal goals.
Similarly, I have concluded that we CAN establish and initiate a process, or "PLAN" to achieve those goals ( A way to get from "here" to "there").
And it can be done democratically and voluntarily.
My responsibility at this stage is to help initiate such a social movement.
Hence, this initial, awkward foray into the realms of the WWW and Internet.
As this movement develops, this and other sites will continue to offer more and more that you will find enlightening and useful. So please check it from time to time for updates.
For now, take heart in the knowledge that a social movement is starting that will bring about greatly needed beneficial change.
And you are being given the chance to be part of it in the new Millenium!
