A Note from the Author
I want to thank each and every one who has stopped by my website. One night as my family and I were gathered around our kitchen table for dinner, I was given a picture of my grandchildren and the neighborhood children as they waited for the school bus that was taken by one of our neighbors. As soon as I saw the picture I knew my life was about to change. A couple of days later I had a strange feeling to write something about that picture. Since my granddaughter was the oldest, I took on her identity and just started writing. Everything seemed to fit together perfectly. The story is about that one-year period when several new families move into the neighborhood and not only the children but also their parents become good friends. I believe that I have been truly blessed. I hope whoever reads the story has as much fun reading it as I had writing it. Harry Simmons
The Little House On the Corner is an adorable story about a young girl and her little brother, who along with their parents move into their grandparents’ home which is located on the corner of a peaceful dead end street. The first two years living there are lonely because there are no children their age living in the neighborhood, but soon enough several families move in at the dead end. After the dead end kids move in, both the children and their parents become best friends. Holidays are spent at an old farmhouse in Pennsylvania owned by their Nana and great-grandfather. The farmhouse is more than one hundred years old, and they have Amish people for neighbors. The story is about family, friends and a very close neighborhood. The children learn the true meaning of best friends. It is a fun, easy to read story intended for the young and young-at- heart.
