Dear Birthmother

Hi, our names are Dan and Debbie, and we hope you take a few moments to read about us and get to know what kind of parents we would be if we had the opportunity to be blessed with a child through adoption.

Dan and I met on a blind date seven years ago and knew immediately that we were meant to be together. We dated for almost a year before getting engaged and were married one year later. In the years since we married our relationship has remained strong and we spend most of our free time together doing things that we both enjoy.

Family has always been very important to both of us. Because we both come from relatively small immediate families we learned early on that family consists of the people who love you, that you love in return, and is not limited to those that are related by bloodlines. And so, we find ourselves with what we consider to be a large extended family. Our families are loving, supportive and very excited about our decision to adopt and know how important having children in our life is. In fact, my sister's son came to our family through the blessing of adoption.

Our home tends to be a gathering place for both family and friends and nothing makes us happier than seeing our yard filled with children. Holidays are joyous times with our families gathered together sharing the traditions of both families. We love to spend time with my brother's two sons and my sister's infant son. Being Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dan is one of our greatest joys in life and we are lucky to all live within a few miles of each other and see each other often.

Dan & I own our home which is in a beautiful town in upstate New York. Our home is located in a family neighborhood with many children in the vicinity and the school district we are in is excellent. The area offers many opportunities for children such as swimming, hiking and organized sports. There are nearby parks with playgrounds and ballfields that are available for all the children to use. Dan and I are both very active and spend quite a bit of time involved in outdoor activities. When we aren’t swimming in our pool, we are out on our boat. Our boat is located about 5 miles from our home and is in a small lake that we water ski and tube from spring to fall. When we need a break from the sun, we pull up to our piece of property that is on the lake for a barbecue. The lake is not only for water skiing and tubing, but for socializing. Most of our friends all have boats and we spend 4th of July on the lake tied up to each other and watching fireworks. When the summer is over and we close the pool and put the boat away, Dan gears up for his winter season of Snow Skiing and Snowmobiling. Debbie prefers to stay at home and cook hearty meals for Dan after he works up his appetite doing his winter sports.

Dan spent his first years after High School graduation in the Air Force. When he completed his tour in the Air Force he went on to become a contractor. Ten years ago Dan started his own company which is thriving. Debbie went to college and graduated with a degree in special education, and currently works as an Executive Assistant in a Fortune 500 company.

At this time in our lives we have almost everything we need, a loving relationship, a wonderful home and financial security, but the most important part is still missing - a family of our own. Can you help us complete our family by helping you through this difficult time?
