Periodontists are dentists who have limited their practice to the treatment of periodontal disease. They have had extensive advanced postdoctoral training following dental school. Both doctors earned their dental degrees from L.S.U. School of Dentistry. Dr. Steven Spindler completed his residency in 1983 while Dr. Aymee Spindler completed hers in 1985, both at L.S.U. Medical Center. As periodontal specialists, Drs. Aymee and Steven Spindler devote their practice to patients needing this type of therapy. They maintain active memberships in The American Academy of Periodontology, The American Dental Association, The Louisiana Dental Association and The New Orleans Dental Association.

 Your general dentist refers you for periodontal treatment when it has been determined that your teeth and the supporting structures require specialized care that is best performed by a periodontist. Your examination will consist of a gentle measuring of the tissue around your teeth. A small rounded instrument with millimeter markings determines if your tissue may be inflamed and how far the damage has gone. A current set of dental X-rays may be obtained. Usually, that is all that is necessary for a complete diagnosis.

As periodontal specialists, Dr. Aymee and Steven Spindler will assist you in the correction and maintenance of your condition. Often, non-surgical periodontal therapy may be all that is required. Each case is different and yours will be thoroughly explained.

Office hours are 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.

 A doctor is always on call for emergencies. After hours, our 24 hour pager service will reach the doctor on call.
